Qualifications

• Requires a four-year degree in urban planning, architecture, engineering, or closely related field.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible administration and supervision in planning or development services in government.
• Ability to streamline development approval processes and deliver high-quality customer service.
• Strong oral and written communications and collaboration with elected officials and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction to the Development Services Department and aligns with citywide goals.
• Lead the department's management team, set expectations, and evaluate performance.
• Oversee the department budget, labor relations, and customer service requests.
• Develop long-range strategic plans and ensure cost recovery and sustainability of services.
• Foster collaboration with officials, business leaders, and the public.
