Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Permanent Cost Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team in Dixon, IL. The role focuses on analyzing manufacturing costs, reporting findings to management, and driving cost-reduction initiatives to improve profitability.

You will work closely with production and supply chain, implement cost standards, and support month-end close with rigorous internal controls. CPA/CMA preferred; 5+ years of cost accounting experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of proven cost accounting experience.
• Extensive knowledge of cost accounting principles, GL management, and cost reduction.
• Proficiency with MS Office and accounting software; familiarity with our system preferred.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail; strong communication abilities.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the cost accounting system and practices.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare detailed reports for management.
• Audit general ledger for accuracy and integrity.
• Implement cost standards for materials and labor.
• Assist in budgets and forecasts.
• Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities across the organization.
• Collaborate with production and supply chain to gather data for cost analysis.
• Maintain internal control documentation and test controls.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly accounting reports for management.
• Conduct inventory reserve analysis quarterly and report to management.
• Assist in month-end close of the General Ledger.
• Perform analyses related to cost and profitability.
