Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant in Hillside, IL to connect financial reporting with manufacturing floor activity. You will maintain and analyze product and inventory costs, investigate variances, and support month-end close to improve cost visibility and margins.

The role offers cross-functional collaboration with engineering, operations, and finance leadership, focusing on costing processes, reporting accuracy, and KPI analysis to drive plant performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Progressive accounting experience with meaningful manufacturing cost-accounting exposure.
• Hands-on experience with cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis.
• Working knowledge of standard costing and manufacturing accounting concepts.
• Experience operating within an ERP-driven manufacturing environment.
• Strong Excel and financial analysis capabilities.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with accounting, finance, manufacturing, production, and supply-chain stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze manufacturing cost information across products, inventory, and production activity.
• Support standard costing and maintain product cost structures.
• Analyze material, labor, overhead, purchase-price, usage, and other manufacturing variances.
• Perform inventory accounting, reconciliations, reserve analysis, and related month-end activities.
• Evaluate bills of materials, routings, labor standards, overhead assumptions, and other product-cost inputs.
• Partner with manufacturing and operations leaders to investigate variances and improve financial visibility.
• Analyze product costs, margins, inventory trends, and manufacturing KPIs.
• Support annual cost rolls, budgeting, forecasting, audits, and continuous improvement of cost-accounting processes.
