Job summary

City Garden Montessori School in St. Louis, MO seeks a strategic Chief Development Officer to lead fundraising, major gifts, annual giving, grants, and marketing efforts.

Reporting to the CEO, the CDO will build robust development structures, manage staff, collaborate with the Board, and drive a growth plan including a $11 Million capital campaign. The ideal candidate has eight years in fundraising and a deep commitment to equity.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of successful fundraising experience, preferably in education.
• Experience leading development with annual budget sizes of at least $10M.
• Commitment to racial equity and justice in philanthropy.
• Proven ability to secure major gifts and manage donor relations.
• Experience supervising staff and collaborating with a board.

Responsibilities

• Meet fundraising targets and report results to CEO and board.
• Create and drive a comprehensive annual development plan with major gift focus.
• Oversee annual fund, grants, and special events fundraising efforts.
• Direct donor stewardship, case development, and communications.
• Lead marketing/PR efforts and branding aligned with mission.
• Supervise development staff and consultants; manage vendors.
• Collaborate with CEO and leadership to set funding priorities.
