Job summary

Dollar Tree in Hickory, NC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. Duties include assisting with daily activities, helping customers, organizing merchandise, and supporting payroll and scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform extensive walking, standing, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities and operations.
• Help customers with questions and concerns in a positive, approachable manner.
• Organize merchandise and transfer from delivery to stockroom to sales floor as needed.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and processing damaged goods; record keeping including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Support Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful store environment.
