Job summary

Perplexity is seeking a growth engineer to own full‑funnel experiments and applied AI features across Computer and Perplexity products. You’ll work on activation, onboarding, SEO, lifecycle, conversion, retention, and paid upgrade moments, while wiring new AI capabilities into measurable adoption and revenue outcomes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Full-stack engineering with Next.js, React, TypeScript frontend and Python backend.
• Strong ability to ship experiments and drive outcomes.
• Familiarity with A/B testing platforms (Eppo, Statsig, Optimizely or equivalents).
• Comfort with SQL and data-informed decision-making.
• Strong product judgment; ownership and initiative.
• Self-motivated with ownership and speed.
• Genuine interest in AI products and ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own growth surfaces across the full funnel for Computer and every Perplexity product.
• Lead experiments end-to-end from hypothesis to rollout.
• Build applied AI systems powering growth: classifiers, personalization, onboarding.
• Launch vertical-specific experiences (students, enterprise) with measurable outcomes.
• Hill-climb on activation, paid conversion, retention with clean data and experiment readouts.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data Science, Monetization, Marketing, and Applied AI.
