Job summary

William Vaughn, a growing food and beverage company in New York City, seeks a Vice President, Controller to lead its accounting function through its next growth phase. This is a senior, hands-on role for an executive who understands a product-based business and can build the financial infrastructure for expansion.

You will oversee all accounting operations, inventory accounting, COGS, standard costing, and revenue recognition, while driving ERP optimization and a high-performing finance team.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience with senior controllership leadership.
• Strong experience in food & beverage, CPG, or related product-based business.
• Deep knowledge of inventory accounting, COGS, manufacturing, and supply chain accounting.
• CPA strongly preferred; experience scaling in high-growth or investor-backed environments.
• Solid technical accounting foundation with NetSuite experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations: monthly close, financial reporting, G/L, and internal controls.
• Oversee inventory accounting, COGS, standard costing, and gross margin reporting.
• Manage accounting for third-party manufacturing, distribution, trade spend, and revenue recognition.
• Establish scalable accounting processes, policies, and reporting infrastructure.
• Lead external audits, technical accounting matters, and GAAP compliance.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain for improved financial visibility.
• Drive ERP optimization, automation, and process improvements.
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
