Job summary

Self-Help Credit Union seeks a Director of Business Development & Community Engagement to join the Yakima, WA team. You will lead deposit-raising, community outreach, and commercial lending initiatives to strengthen local financial opportunity.

In this role, you will build networks with investors, nonprofits, and community partners, and guide branch teams toward growth while aligning with Self-Help’s mission and values. Strong collaboration and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 10 years of experience in community development, fundraising, financial services and/or other related fields.
• Deep knowledge and expertise in financial services, marketing, and/or community development finance.
• Strong commitment to Self-Help’s mission: ownership and economic opportunity for underserved communities.

Responsibilities

• Develop regional strategies for cultivating deposits and growth.
• Build and maintain relationships with socially responsible investors and partners.
• Coach branch staff to improve deposit-raising and lending opportunities.
• Coordinate with leadership, finance, and staff for proposals and reporting.
• Represent Self-Help at events and expand visibility for deposits and loans.
• Develop targeted marketing strategies for deposit outreach with Marketing-Communications.
