Job summary

Anchorage Park Foundation is seeking a creative, relationship‑oriented Director of Development & Communications to grow fundraising, strengthen our public voice, and connect more people to Anchorage’s parks, trails, and outdoor spaces.

This hands-on leadership role builds on an established fundraising and communications program, cultivating relationships with donors, sponsors, foundations, and community partners, while telling compelling stories about the impact of APF’s work with the Executive

Qualifications

At least five years of professional experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, communications, or a related field, with demonstrated fundraising success.
Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and presentation skills.
Experience developing and executing fundraising and/or communications strategies.

Responsibilities

Build on APF’s fundraising program and donor relationships while creating new growth opportunities.
Develop and implement annual Fundraising Plan with the Executive Director.
Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, corporate partners, sponsors, foundations, and funders.
Lead APF’s communications and marketing across digital, print, social media, email, website, and media relations.
Represent APF with donors, businesses, community organizations, public agencies, and partners.
Provide fundraising and communications updates to the Executive Director and Board.
