Job summary

Anchorage Park Foundation (APF) seeks a dynamic Director of Development & Communications to grow fundraising, amplify the public voice, and connect residents to Anchorage’s parks and trails. This hands-on leader will build on an established program, cultivate donors and sponsors, and tell compelling stories about APF’s impact.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director will drive fundraising strategy, manage campaigns, and strengthen systems while collaborating with staff and community

Qualifications

• Five+ years of nonprofit fundraising, development, or communications experience.
• Proven donor cultivation and relationship-building abilities.
• Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills.
• Experience with grant writing, partnerships, media relations, or community engagement.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.

Responsibilities

• Fundraising Planning & Implementation: build on APF’s fundraising program and develop annual plan.
• Communications & Public Engagement: lead communications across digital, print, and media.
• Community & Relationship Building: represent APF with donors and partners.
• Organizational Leadership: collaborate with small team and report metrics to ED/Board.
