Karman Space & Defense seeks a Senior Director, Capture and Growth Operations in Huntington Beach, CA. Lead the centralized growth organization and transform a growing pipeline into predictable backlog.

Oversee capture governance, competitive intelligence, price-to-win, long-range planning, and government relations to guide strategy. You will govern the BD technology stack, manage CRM and forecasting, and mentor Capture Managers while collaborating with senior leaders to align resources and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
• Ten+ years in aerospace/defense across capture governance, CI & price-to-win, or long-range planning.
• Leadership experience managing direct and matrixed teams on time-sensitive deliverables.
• Experience scaling capture/proposal functions during high growth.
• Experience standing up stage-gate capture processes in multi-segment defense org.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and government contract types (FFP, cost-plus, IDIQ).
• Strong executive communication with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead company-wide capture process, gate reviews, win-probability methods, bids, and lessons learned.
• Own pipeline, CRM, and reporting infra for executive forecasting.
• Coach Capture Managers to build capability across segments.
• Direct CI and price-to-win function examining competitor postures and pricing.
• Lead Long Range Plan for bookings with Finance for bottoms-up forecast.
• Track orders vs. LRP commitments; flag risks and reforecast as needed.
• Govern BD tech stack: CRM, proposals, intelligence, pricing, and LRP tools.
• Evaluate AI and automation to improve BD performance across growth org.
• Oversee Government Relations and PAC governance and reporting.
