Job summary

The Estate Lawyers, a growing estate planning and administration firm in Irvine, CA, seeks a Director of Operations & Technology to own the roadmap for scalable growth—operationally, technologically, and structurally. You’ll identify blockers, design fixes, and deliver measurable outcomes as part of the Leadership Team.

You’ll assess, prioritize, build, and measure; if something isn’t working, you’ll say so and fix it, driving accountability and a high standard of operation across the firm.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience leading business operations across departments.
• Proven success helping a business grow with measurable results.
• Experience planning and implementing business technology: vendor evaluation, system integrations, automation, and AI assessment (coding not required).
• Experience managing budgets, evaluating ROI, identifying cost savings, and measuring financial results with Finance.
• Experience leading cross‑department change: securing commitments, clarifying ownership, resolving disagreements, and holding owners accountable.
• Law firm or professional services experience strongly preferred
• Experience integrating acquired teams is a plus
• Familiarity with EOS and Ninety.io is helpful

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the Operations and Technology Roadmap.
• Turn approved priorities into finished projects with defined owners, scope, budget, milestones, and timelines.
• Maintain master shared project list and require regular updates from owners; track costs, risks, and results.
• Hold project owners to commitments and escalate any at‑risk deadlines or budgets with a clear recommendation.
• Keep leadership updates tight: progress, exceptions, recommended action, and decisions needed.
• Plan and collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal Production, Revenue, and Administration to remove delays and improve handoffs.
• Set documentation standards, assign ownership, and ensure onboarding of SOPs and checklists across departments.
• Build a rolling technology plan aligned with the operations roadmap, including automation and AI considerations.
