Job summary

TikTok is seeking a Category User Growth Project Intern for TikTok Shop - US Operation in the Los Angeles area. You will support the User Growth Strategy team, performing data-driven analyses to identify opportunities and build scalable analytics capabilities.

Ideal candidates are BS/MS students with strong SQL and Python skills, able to work with cross-functional teams on growth initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Business, Economics, Statistics, CS, Data Science, or Industrial Engineering.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Experience using Python (Pandas, NumPy) for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support user growth strategy by conducting data-driven analyses and identifying actionable business opportunities.
• Analyze user lifecycle, acquisition, retention, and purchasing behaviors to identify growth drivers.
• Conduct industry and category analyses to evaluate growth opportunities across users, products, merchants, channels, and categories.
• Identify high-potential acquisition products, merchants, and supply characteristics to support category growth initiatives.
• Build analytical frameworks to answer business questions and translate findings into strategic recommendations.
• Write SQL queries to extract, clean, and analyze large-scale datasets.
• Prepare business review materials, strategy presentations, and executive-ready insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on high-impact growth initiatives.
• Support ad hoc analyses and strategic projects as business needs arise.
