Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a Patient Care Technician to support a specific patient population under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role focuses on expanding knowledge and delivering high-quality direct and indirect care as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and have completed or be eligible for the HM H PCT Apprenticeship Program. Experience in a hospital setting is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Completion of one of: CNA, Medical Assistant, or PCT program; or Fundamentals of Nursing; or HM H PCT Apprenticeship; or equivalent medical background.
• Eligible for HMH PCT Apprentice Program if not completed program.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age-specific criteria as part of the care team.
• Support patient safety, comfort, and outcomes through direct and indirect care.
• Communicate with patients and nursing staff about patient status and care rendered.
• Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration of the plan of care from admission to discharge.
• Engage in Unit/Department PI activities.
