Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in ECE required.
  • Minimum 2 years of early childhood teaching experience.
  • Experience with ages 2–5 preferred.
  • Strong classroom-management and communication skills.
  • Dependable, patient, nurturing, and professional.
  • Must meet NYC childcare employment, background-check, and health requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate learning activities.
  • Provide play-based learning through art, sensory activities, music, stories, and hands-on experiences.
  • Establish and maintain a structured daily classroom routine.
  • Supervise children and ensure their health, safety, and well-being.
  • Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development.
  • Observe children’s progress and support individual learning needs.
  • Communicate professionally with parents and families.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming classroom.
  • Follow all NYC Department of Health, DOE, and center policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Director and teaching staff.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development.

Position Details
  • Position: Lead Teacher
  • Pay: $35–$40 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) required
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of early childhood teaching experience required
