Job description

Be part of a community working together to make science better. A society publisher with the perfect blend of a not-for-profit purpose and a commercial perspective. Here, we help each other be the best we can be: a team big enough to create impact and small enough to care.

  • Setting objectives, monitoring performance and supporting the success of your team.
  • Driving growth across our portfolio, including our Transformative Agreement programme.
  • Building strong relationships with library customers and acting as their voice within the organisation.
  • Working closely with colleagues across Sales Operations, Marketing, Licensing and Customer Experience to deliver a consistent and customer‑focused approach.
  • Using CRM insights and data to forecast performance, identify opportunities and support effective decision‑making.
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and collaboration.
About you

We're looking for a commercially minded sales leader who combines strategic thinking with a genuine passion for customer relationships and team development.

You'll bring:
  • Significant experience in STM journals, ebooks or scholarly publishing sales.
  • A strong understanding of the academic library market, particularly within the Americas.
  • Knowledge of Open Access publishing and evolving market trends.
  • Experience leading, motivating and developing high‑performing teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems, such as Salesforce, for forecasting and performance management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage audiences at all levels.
  • Strong commercial and financial awareness, with the ability to translate insight into action.
