Group Sales Manager – Multi-Property Role

Position Summary:
The Group Sales Manager is responsible for driving group room revenue and bookings across Helix Huntsville hotel properties. This individual will develop and maintain strategic relationships with group clients, meeting planners, travel managers, and local organizations while coordinating with on-property teams to ensure seamless execution and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Revenue Generation:

  • Collaborate with Area Director of Sales to develop and execute strategic group and corporate sales initiatives that align with portfolio-wide revenue goals; ensure consistent communication of market trends, key account activity, and performance metrics across properties while leveraging regional insights to drive targeted group business opportunities and optimize multi-property synergy.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new group business opportunities for all assigned properties.
  • Solicit, negotiate, and confirm group room and meeting space contracts (SMERF, Corporate, Association, Government, Sports, etc.).
  • Achieve or exceed group room night and revenue goals across multiple locations.
  • Maximize revenue opportunities by up-selling and cross-selling all properties and services.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for group clients from lead generation through contract signing.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, DMCs, CVBs, and travel planners.
  • Attend tradeshows, networking events, and industry functions to promote properties.

Coordination & Communication:

  • Collaborate with Area Director of Sales, General Managers, Revenue Managers, and property teams to execute group business successfully.
  • Ensure accurate communication of group needs via BEOs, rooms agreements, resumes, and internal meetings.
  • Monitor group room blocks, pick-up reports, and attrition timelines.

Reporting & Strategy:

  • Maintain up-to-date sales activity and account information in the CRM/Sales system.
  • Prepare and present weekly/monthly sales performance reports.
  • Assist in developing annual group sales strategies and budgets.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of hotel group sales experience
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding group sales goals.
  • Strong understanding of hospitality revenue management and group pricing strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple properties, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel between assigned properties and attend off-site events as needed.
