Onni Group of Companies is seeking a Group Sales Manager to generate business for The Emily Hotel, Level Old Town, Level River North, and Level Fulton Market in the Chicago area. You will maintain key account relationships and lead the sales team to meet financial goals, focusing on groups, events, and meetings.

The role requires strong hospitality industry knowledge, sales experience, and the ability to coordinate with multiple hotel departments.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree preferred; minimum two years in sales capacity in a comparable hotel/resort.
• Experience in events, rooms, or reservations preferred.
• Strong English writing and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Research, solicit and generate new group opportunities to exceed lead generation goals.
• Coordinate room, food & beverage and meeting space requirements via Tripleseat and enter/update bookings.
• Communicate customer needs across departments to ensure we exceed expectations.
• Provide solutions that protect hotel financial goals while strengthening customer relationships.
• Develop knowledge of hotel operations and policies to support sales efforts.
• Penetrate target markets with a strategic plan directed by supervisory leadership.
• Collaborate with supervisor to achieve outlined objectives.
• Maximize promotion/distribution channels for domestic and international group sales.
• Maintain visibility in local community and industry organizations.

What You Will Do

• Research, solicit and generate new leads for group opportunities through database research and proactive sales efforts, maximizing new room revenue streams, to meet and exceed lead generation goals.
• Coordinate customer specifications (including room, food and beverage and meeting space requirements) via identified lead management system. Enter and maintain pertinent account and booking information in Tripleseat in accordance with defined standards.
• Ability to communicate customer needs internally and work with other departments to ensure we exceed expectations.
• Ability to provide solutions that both achieve and protect the financial goals of the hotel while strengthening relationships with customers.
• Develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel and applicable departments.
• Implement a targeted and direct strategic plan to penetrate specific markets within group market as directed supervisor.
• Work closely with the supervisor to develop and achieve outlined objectives.
• Maximize the use of all promotion/distribution channels to maximize domestic and international sales opportunities.
• Maintain strong visibility in local community and industry organizations as applicable.
• Conduct creative site inspections.
• Respond to inquiries and create proposals within 24 hours.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and hours of operation.
• Promote positive relations with guests and employees.
• Maintain a high level of knowledge of the competition’s product.
• Maintain up to date client communications in Tripleseat, including group status (prospect, tentative, definite, and turned down), applicable BEOs, and other information to liaise with other hotel departments.
• Create action plans on a quarterly basis or as requested by supervisor.
• Achieve or exceed assigned quarterly financial goals.
• Positively contributes to the achievement of overall hotel goals in ADR, Occupancy, and RevPAR.
• Achieve the assigned target goals for proactive sales efforts (i.e., site inspections, prospecting calls, etc.).
• Create an annual travel calendar that supports market segment growth.
• Plan and prepare appointments for sales trips. Create pre-trip and post-trip reports in a timely manner.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Ensure the financial success of the hotel by ensuring that all bookings are profitable for the entire hotel.
• Provide feedback to the Director of Sales and Marketing on changing conditions, including trends in the competition, because of direct solicitation in their market areas.

What You Will Bring

• Ability to verbally communicate and write in English with guests, management, and co-workers.
• Knowledge of operations in the Hospitality Industry
• Must be able to stand in one place for extended periods of time, and to remain on foot for up to 8 hours.
• Four-year college degree preferred. Minimum two years in sales capacity in a comparable hotel/resort. Additional experience in events, rooms, and or reservations preferred.

Salary Range

$73,000 - $77,000
