Summary
The Group Sales and Conference Services Manager acts as the primary liaison between the client and operations to plan and execute meetings, conferences, and events. This role involves both selling services to new clients and managing the intricate logistics of confirmed events to ensure client satisfaction and maximize revenue. The Group Sales and Conference Services manager is responsible for overseeing and driving room sales, corporate catering, and conference services for Switch House and Hotel‑affiliated properties. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maximizing revenue for our hotel. The Corporate Catering and Conference Services Sales Manager ensures seamless communication among clients, vendors, hotel partners, and internal leadership to deliver exceptional experiences that reflect the organization’s standards of excellence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in corporate catering and event management.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients and trends in the catering and conference industry.
Event Coordination & Planning
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients to understand their catering and conference needs.
- Serve as the primary liaison between corporate clients and the organization throughout the event lifecycle.
- Manage event logistics, including timelines, bookings, room layouts, menus, audiovisual needs, and vendor coordination.
- Partner with hotel and venue teams to confirm accommodations, meeting space requirements, and hospitality details.
- Coordinate with internal departments (culinary, operations, facilities, leadership) to ensure all event elements are executed to standard.
- Prepare detailed BEO and post‑event reports.
- Cultivate strong relationships with corporate clients to anticipate needs and provide proactive solutions.
- Provide on‑site event support, ensuring all elements are running smoothly and client expectations are exceeded.
- Maintain professionalism and responsiveness with all client and partner communications.
Administrative & Analytics
- Maintain accurate event records and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions in the CRM system.
- Analyze sales trends and report on performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and present proposals, contracts, and pricing for corporate clients.
- Monitor event budgets, costs, and profitability to ensure financial targets are met.
- Assist leadership with forecasting and reporting on event activity and client trends.
Guest Experience & Marketing
- Uphold the company’s standards of hospitality, professionalism, and service excellence.
- Participate in marketing initiatives to promote catering and conference services, including outreach to local businesses and organizations.
- Attend trade shows, networking events, and industry conferences to expand the hotel’s market presence.
- Ensure that every corporate event reflects the brand’s commitment to quality, detail, and client satisfaction.
- Support initiatives to enhance client engagement and overall event efficiency.
- Provides updates to the management team regarding difficult or emotional customer situations.
- Models the Cescaphe Mission Statement and Core Values.
- Other duties as assigned or as needed to support business needs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Possess a four‑year degree or equivalent experience.
- Have at least three (3) years’ experience in hotel sales.
- Strong understanding of the catering and conference industry.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and events simultaneously.
- Requires strong communication, planning and organizing, relational, operations, and computer skills.
- Strong negotiation, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
