Job summary

Discord is seeking a Group Product Manager for Data/ML to shape the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our ML Platform and its Advertising applications. You will align across product, data science, and engineering teams to drive data-first decision making, and partner with policy and security as needed.

You’ll own the ML roadmap for advertising, supervise key metrics, and mentor teams across distributed groups.

Qualifications

• 8+ years combined data science and product management.
• 3-5+ years owning algorithmic, data-driven systems (e.g., bidding, ranking, personalization).
• Proven ability to analyze and synthesize data directly.
• Familiarity with ML fundamentals and collaboration with ML/data engineers.
• Experience operating across international or distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Guide the product philosophy, vision, and roadmap for Discord's ML Platform and its key use cases (Personalization, Notifications, Safety, Advertising, Recommendations).
• Own performance against key data and ML business metrics, and proactively report progress to stakeholders across the company.
• Collaborate deeply with Applied ML, ML Platform, and Data Science to build and prioritize the ML roadmap for our Advertising products.
• Advise product teams across Discord on how to build and instrument their products with data-first capabilities from the start.
• Drive cross-functional execution across all product areas, working with engineers/ML Engineers, security, legal, and policy partners as needed.
