You will assess, diagnose, and treat patients with mental health and substance use disorders, prescribing medications and delivering therapy where appropriate. The ideal candidate holds a PMHNP, ANCC certification, and an active Maryland license, with strong psychopharmacology knowledge and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing with PMHNP focus.
• Current ANCC PMHNP-BC certification.
• Active Maryland state nursing license.

• Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments for mental health and substance use disorders and plan treatment.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications and monitor effects, adjusting dosages as needed.
• Provide individual/family therapy for mental health management and substance use disorders.
• Collaborate with physicians and therapists to ensure holistic care.
• Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with regulations.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices.
• Document client visits and progress in a timely manner.
• Develop individualized treatment plans for caseload clients.
• Order/interpret labs for clients on caseload.
• Complete forms, letters, and documentation as requested; meet deadlines.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our Group Practice. This role is essential in providing comprehensive mental health care to patients across various settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in psychopharmacology and patient assessment, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.

Duties

• Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate mental health and substance use disorders and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications and monitor their effects, adjusting dosages as necessary.
• Conduct individual/family therapy sessions with patients regarding mental health management, substance use disorders, emotional disorders, and nutritional deficiencies.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and therapists to ensure continuity and holistic care of the patient
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in psychiatric nursing.
• Maintain detailed records of client visits and progress
• Development of individualized treatment plans
• Order/interpret labs for all clients on caseload
• Treat client population in accordance with company guidelines & standard operating procedures
• Document in accordance with state and insurance guidelines
• Complete forms/letters as requested by clients for various needs
• Complete documentation in a timely manner
• Complete weekly timesheet
• Diagnose and treat all mental health and emotional disorders
• Communicate with pharmacies regarding refill requests
• Participate in community outreach and education as needed/requested
• Completing prior authorizations for medications ordered
• Check company email regularly
• Provide individual therapy to clients as needed/requested by them

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current ANCC certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
• Active Maryland state nursing license
• Malpractice/liability insurance
• Active DEA/CDS registrations
• Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and patient assessment techniques are a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to providing empathetic and culturally competent care.

Pay: Depends on experience, skill level, and number of clients seen.
