Job summary

Medicalincs LLC seeks a compassionate PMHNP to provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy across the lifespan. You will collaborate with therapists, care coordinators, and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • MSN or DNP from an accredited PMHNP program.
  • Active Maryland NP license with PMHNP certification.
  • Current DEA registration to prescribe psychotropic meds.
  • Minimum 2 years' outpatient or behavioral health experience with psychiatric evals and meds.
  • Ability to provide psychotherapy in addition to medication management.
  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders and psychopharmacology.
  • Experience with children, adolescents, and/or adults.
  • Experience with crisis intervention, risk assessment, and safety planning.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and EHR documentation.
  • Spanish language skills preferred.
  • EClinicalWorks experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who is passionate about providing comprehensive mental health care through both
medication management and psychotherapy.

In this role, you will conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnose and treat mental health conditions, prescribe and manage medications, and provide therapeutic interventions to support individuals across the lifespan. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, care coordinators, and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, biopsychosocial assessments, and diagnostic interviews for children, adolescents, and adults.
  2. Diagnose mental health and behavioral health disorders and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
  3. Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychotropic medications while evaluating treatment effectiveness and potential side effects.
  4. Provide individual psychotherapy and therapeutic interventions utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities.
  5. Conduct ongoing follow-up assessments to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated.
  6. Perform risk assessments, crisis intervention, and safety planning for patients experiencing psychiatric emergencies.
  7. Collaborate with therapists, care coordinators, primary care providers, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  8. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and wellness strategies.
  9. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state practice regulations, and professional standards of care.
  10. Participate in case consultations, treatment team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
  11. Refer patients to appropriate community resources and specialty services when indicated.
  12. Build and maintain therapeutic relationships that foster trust, engagement, and positive treatment outcomes.
  13. Promote culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and patient-centered care.
  14. Stay current with advances in psychiatric treatment, psychopharmacology, and behavioral health best practices through ongoing professional development.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program
  • Current PMHNP-BC certification and active, unrestricted Maryland Nurse Practitioner license
  • Current DEA registration and authority to prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management in an outpatient or behavioral health setting
  • Ability and willingness to provide psychotherapy in addition to medication management
  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based treatment modalities
  • Experience treating children, adolescents, and/or adults across a variety of mental health conditions
  • Proficiency in conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and developing individualized treatment plans
  • Experience with crisis intervention, risk assessment, and safety planning
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with therapists, psychiatrists, primary care providers, care coordinators, and other multidisciplinary team members
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient engagement skills
  • Bilingual abilities (Spanish) are highly preferred
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, confidentiality requirements, and behavioral health regulatory standards
  • Experience with electronic health records (eClinicalWorks experience preferred) Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently while maintaining high-quality patient care

  • Ability to build therapeutic relationships with diverse patient populations
