Job summary

Certerra in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Group Leader of Environmental Services to manage projects, mentor staff, and expand business activity within the Certerra Southwest division. The role covers due diligence, NEPA reviews, building science evaluations, and industrial hygiene consulting, with experience across asbestos, lead-based paint, indoor air quality and related disciplines.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in chemistry, biology, geology, engineering, or industrial hygiene.
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training with current updates.
Professional registration as an engineer, geologist, CIH, or CSP preferred.
AHERA accreditations for asbestos inspector, management planner, contractor supervisor, site monitor, and abatement designer.
EPA or State certifications for lead-based paint risk assessor.
Minimum 5 years’ experience with environmental, building sciences and industrial hygiene.
Valid driver’s license acceptable per our insurance policy.

Responsibilities

Supervise personnel and projects, directing field activities and reviewing data.
Develop recommendations aligned with industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
Mentor staff on project tasks and career development; coach junior staff.
Assist in business development: manage client relationships and prepare competitive proposals.
Provide guidance on local, state, and federal regulations affecting work practices and outcomes.
Collaborate with technical experts and marketing to prepare winning proposals for government contracts.
