Job summary

QSAC is seeking a Group Leader for the Queens Village Day Habilitation program in Jamaica, NY 11434. This role oversees DSP staff and classrooms, ensuring accurate supervision of individuals in groups and implementation of care plans.

The position requires 1-2 years of relevant experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift participants. Competitive benefits accompany full-time employment at QSAC.

Qualifications

• 1-2 year experience working with Developmental Disability/Autism populations.
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record preferred.
• Ability to safely assist lifting individuals of various weights & 20 lb items.
• Punctuality and regular attendance expected.
• Commitment to company values and adherence to policies.
• Background/Fingerprint Check required by state regulations.
• Effective communication with individuals served and others.
• Ability to run when needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Habilitation Specialists/DSPs.
• Implement, adhere to and train staff on established treatment plans.
• Maintain certifications (SCIP-R, AMAP, CPR, First Aid).
• Handle client billing information (Individual Summary Sheet).
• Complete attendance sheets (daily/weekly).
• Complete monthly progress notes and recreation forms.
• Complete daily staff responsibility sheet and worksite summary sheet.
• Complete transportation logs and mileage sheets.
• Handle emergencies as they arise.
