The Arc of Ocean County is seeking a Group Home Manager to lead a Community Living residence in Brick, New Jersey, supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

As the day-to-day leader, you will supervise staff, coordinate services, ensure safety and compliance, and foster independence and meaningful activities for residents.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of two years of experience supporting individuals with IDD in a residential setting.
Valid New Jersey driver’s license with no more than five points.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational and decision-making skills.
Ability to supervise employees with a person-centered approach.
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; on-call rotation if required.
Ability to meet the physical demands of residential services.

Responsibilities

Direct daily operations of an assigned Community Living residence with quality, person-centered services.
Establish a home that promotes safety, respect, independence, and individual choice.
Monitor program activities to follow agency policies and regulatory standards.
Identify and address operational issues while maintaining continuity of services.
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate Direct Support Professionals.
Develop staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage.
Provide coaching and guidance to strengthen staff skills.
Foster a collaborative, accountable team delivering quality service.
Ensure services align with each individual's IHP.
Coordinate healthcare, behavioral supports, and community resources.
Encourage meaningful employment, education, recreation, and community participation.
Maintain relationships with families, guardians, coordinators, and interdisciplinary teams.
Oversee records, medication systems, and logs; prepare required reports.
Prepare the residence for licensing reviews, inspections, audits, and QA.
Manage budgets, purchasing, inventory, and operating expenses.
Complete administrative reports and payroll approvals.

The Arc of Ocean County is looking for a Group Home Manager to lead a Community Living residence in Brick, New Jersey, supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

As the person responsible for the day-to-day direction of the home, you'll have a direct influence on the environment individuals live in and the team that supports them. You'll lead and develop staff, coordinate services, oversee operations, and make sure the residence remains a safe, welcoming place where individuals can exercise choice, build independence, and work toward their goals.

What You'll Lead

Create a Strong Residential Environment

Direct the daily operations of an assigned Community Living residence while maintaining quality, person-centered services.
Establish a home environment that promotes safety, respect, independence, and individual choice.
Monitor program activities and practices to ensure they follow agency policies and regulatory standards.
Identify and address operational issues promptly while maintaining continuity of services.

Build & Support Your Team

Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate Direct Support Professionals and supervisory employees.
Develop staff schedules that provide appropriate coverage and respond to program needs.
Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and guidance to help employees strengthen their skills.
Foster a team environment built around collaboration, accountability, and quality service.

Make Individual Goals Part of Everyday Life

Ensure services and supports are provided in accordance with each individual's Individual Habilitation Plan (IHP).
Coordinate healthcare, behavioral services, therapeutic supports, and community-based resources.
Encourage individuals to participate in meaningful employment, education, recreation, and community opportunities.
Maintain effective relationships with families, guardians, support coordinators, and interdisciplinary team members.

Keep Services Safe & Compliant

Oversee required records, medication systems, communication logs, and program reports.
Maintain the residence's readiness for licensing reviews, inspections, audits, and quality assurance activities.
Ensure program practices meet applicable DDD, DHS, DCF, Medicaid, and other regulatory requirements.
Investigate concerns, follow through with corrective actions, and identify opportunities to strengthen program quality.

Oversee the Business of the Home

Manage household budgets, purchasing, inventory, and other operating expenses.
Complete administrative reports, payroll approvals, and required records accurately and within established timelines.
Monitor available resources and promote responsible, efficient management of the residence.
Take on additional leadership responsibilities that support the success of Residential Services.

Required Qualifications

Valid New Jersey driver's license with no more than five (5) motor vehicle points.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Ability to effectively supervise employees while maintaining a person-centered approach.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays and participate in an on-call rotation as required.
Ability to meet the physical demands associated with residential services.
