Job summary

The role requires compassionate interaction, reliability, and adherence to safety standards; full-time schedule includes evenings, weekends, and shift flexibility to ensure continuous coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; relevant training or certification (CNA/HHA/DSP) preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is required or preferred depending on role.
• Fingerprint Clearance Card is required for employment.
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities, especially in residential settings, is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with residents.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to transport residents.
• Three professional references are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
• Monitor health, behavior, and well‑being; report concerns to supervisors promptly.
• Administer prescribed oral medications and provide basic health support per care plans.
• Offer companionship and engage residents in recreational, educational, and social activities.
• Support learning and practice of life skills to promote independence.
• Prepare and serve meals per dietary needs and preferences.
• Assist with laundry, cleaning, and other household tasks to maintain a safe environment.
• Accompany residents to medical appointments or community activities, providing transportation as needed.
• Document care, condition changes, and daily activities accurately per policies.
• Collaborate with families and health professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Follow safety protocols and licensing requirements for group home operations.
