Job summary

The City of Pflugerville is seeking a Group Exercise Coordinator for the Monarch Recreation Center. This role leads the group fitness program, recruits and trains instructors, and organizes a diverse, safe schedule. The coordinator also teaches when needed to support program continuity.

Responsibilities include monitoring participation trends, reporting to the Fitness Supervisor, and maintaining high standards and member satisfaction while ensuring safety and quality in all activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience teaching group fitness.
• Certification: CPT or Group Fitness Instructor (ACE, NASM, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent) plus CPR, AED, and First Aid within 6 months of hire.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; supervisory experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead, recruit, onboard, train, and supervise group exercise instructors; ensure standards and certifications.
• Develop and update class schedules; identify gaps and ensure substitute coverage.
• Observe classes, review trends, and adjust scheduling and formats to meet demand.
• Serve as backup instructor and teach classes to maintain continuity.
• Support program marketing, communicate with members, and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect and report class participation numbers and trends for decision-making.
• Uphold fitness safety guidelines and facility protocols.
• Remain available via cell for job-related issues or emergencies.
