Job summary

Fitometry Health Club in Ridgewood, NJ is growing its group fitness team and seeks a Group Exercise Manager focused on recruiting, training, and developing exceptional instructors. You’ll build a roster that delivers welcoming, challenging, and engaging classes that members look forward to attending.

You’ll lead recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and scheduling, partner with operations and marketing, and maintain consistent class coverage with peak-hour support.

Qualifications

• Experience leading group fitness programs or managing a fitness team.
• Ability to recruit, evaluate, and coach instructors.
• Strong teaching skills and a current nationally recognized group fitness certification; relevant specialty certifications are a plus.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Knowledge of exercise technique, class programming, modifications, and safe instruction.

Responsibilities

• Recruit talented instructors across formats and build a steady pipeline.
• Interview and audition to assess teaching ability and fit.
• Train instructors in design, cueing, modifications, and engagement.
• Lead coaching sessions, workshops, and address performance gaps.
• Develop class schedules aligned with attendance and capacity.
• Collaborate with operations, marketing, and member engagement teams.
