Job summary

Boar's Head Resort is seeking an energetic Group Fitness Instructor to lead classes for BHSC members and guests in a group setting. You will instruct exercises, coach proper form and intensity, and maintain current CPR/AED certification as required by the fitness manager.

Applicants should have national group exercise certification, excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality and safety during all sessions.

Qualifications

• Nationally accredited group exercise certification or comparable fitness certification.
• CPR/AED certification.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Personal and professional fitness experience.
• Proven ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
• Prioritize and organize.
• Resolve problems calmly, using good judgment.
• Work independently.
• Understand customer service needs and solve them proactively.
• Protect confidentiality of clients and coworkers.
• Recognize an emergency and follow emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Instruct exercise classes.
• Encourage participants to perform at appropriate intensity and coaching body alignment; offer modifications when needed.
• Maintain CPR and current certifications as determined by the fitness manager and provide copies as updated.
• Attend on-site training programs and staff meetings.
• Promote the Group Exercise Program and serve as a health and fitness role model.
• Submit timesheets as required for payroll.
• Report facility maintenance needs to the Fitness Manager.
• Keep studios and equipment areas organized and clean.
• Encourage members and guests to register and pay for classes at the front desk.
• Acquire and maintain knowledge of Sports Club programs and policies to answer questions.
