Job summary

YMCA of the Treasure Coast is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to lead energizing classes and inspire members to reach their fitness goals in a supportive community setting.

You will conduct a variety of group classes, ensure safety, motivate participants, and promote YMCA programs, while staying current with fitness trends and certifications. This role emphasizes inclusivity and professional development within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Certified in group exercise instruction (ACE, AFAA, NASM, or equivalent).
• Proven experience leading group fitness classes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of fitness safety standards and proper exercise techniques.
• CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead group exercise classes such as aerobics, strength training, yoga, Zumba, or other fitness programs in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Create a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages participation and motivation.
• Demonstrate proper techniques and safety procedures to ensure participant safety.
• Monitor and assess participant progress, providing modifications as needed.
• Maintain equipment and ensure the cleanliness of the class area.
• Promote YMCA programs and services to encourage member engagement.
• Stay current with industry trends and certifications to enhance class offerings.
