POSITION: Group Fitness Instructor; Part-Time LOCATION: Clarkesville, GA

DESCRIPTION: The Group Fitness Instructor will report to the Campus Life Director and must be energetic, motivated, and knowledgeable to lead engaging and safe fitness classes for participants of varying fitness levels. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about health and wellness, excels at motivating others, and creates a positive, inclusive environment that encourages members to achieve their fitness goals. Major duties include planning and leading dynamic group fitness classes that include cardio, strength training, HIIT, cycling, yoga, dance fitness, and more. Fitness Instructors will demonstrate proper exercise techniques and provide clear verbal and visual instructions. Instructors should have the knowledge and ability to modify exercises to accommodate different fitness levels, physical limitations, and participant needs. Instructors are expected to ensure participants safety by monitoring form, technique, and overall class environment while also creating a welcoming, motivating, and inclusive atmosphere that promotes member engagement and retention. Instructors will be expected to stay current on fitness trends, training techniques, and industry best practices. Additionally, instructors should arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled classes, maintain cleanliness and organization of fitness equipment and class space, and assist with fitness events, member outreach and promotional activities, as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification
  • Experience teaching group fitness classes
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire individuals and groups
  • Possesses reliability, punctuality, and professionalism
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current Group Fitness Instructor certification from a recognized organization (ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM, ISSA, or equivalent)
  • Specialty certifications in formats such as Yoga, Pilates, Cycling, Zumba, Barre, HIIT, or Strength Training
  • Experience working with diverse populations and fitness levels
