  • Provide a safe and fun environment for all participants.
  • Promote knowledge of proper group fitness components (warm-up, cardio, flexibility, cool-down).
  • Knowledgeable in dynamics of Group Fitness.
  • Arrive early to prep, set-up, and greet participants.
  • Record attendance numbers for every class.
  • Communicate with supervisor if unsafe conditions or equipment needs repair.
  • Provide quality customer service to all participants.

Job Summary

Under general supervision of Wellness and Recreation, Group Fitness Instructors are responsible for leading and organizing group exercise programs to help Wellness and Recreation members improve their health and fitness. These programs can include many forms of fitness activities including boot camp, cardio kickboxing, yoga, boxing, cycling, Zumba, and many more. Group Fitness Instructors are also responsible for aiding in the promotion of group fitness classes to increase participation across the campus community. Group Fitness Instructors will occasionally be required to participate in special events to promote the Wellness and Recreation and its programs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe and fun environment for all participants.
  • Promote knowledge of proper group fitness components i.e.: warm‑up, aerobic exercise, flexibility, cool down, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in dynamics of Group Fitness.
  • Arrive early to each class to prep, set‑up, and greet participants.
  • Record attendance numbers for every class.
  • Communicate with supervisor when unsafe conditions occur or reporting equipment in need of repair.
  • Provide quality customer service to all participants.
Required Qualifications
  • High school graduate or GED required
  • Must be currently enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Georgia Gwinnett College
  • Must be in good academic standing and maintain good standing for the duration of employment
  • Must be in good conduct standing with Georgia Gwinnett College and maintain good conduct for the duration of employment
  • Good time management, written, and verbal skills
  • Must have a current or be willing to complete Standard First Aid Training
  • Must have a current or be willing to complete CPR/AED Certification
  • Able to obtain Professional certification
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs
  • Able to build positive and professional relationships with clients
