Job summary

Discovery Behavioral Health in Torrance, CA is seeking a Part-Time Group Facilitator to lead outpatient groups (PHP & IOP). The role includes de-escalation when needed and communicating key information to the treatment team.

Responsibilities include developing programs with leadership, facilitating groups and educational sessions, completing notes immediately after groups, and ensuring documentation meets policies and ethics. A valid CA driver’s license and TB test are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• May be working toward a Master's degree to become a therapist.
• Must understand the therapeutic process, confidentiality laws, and professional ethics.
• Must submit to post-offer physical exam, medical history check, and TB test.
• Must have a valid CA driver's license and liability insurance if driving a personal vehicle on property.

• Collaborates with Program Director and Clinical Director to develop a program of therapy, evaluation and treatment.
• Facilitates groups, workshops, and educational sessions as scheduled.
• Completes group notes immediately after each session.
• Documents all services in patients' medical records.
• Adheres to company policy, Joint Commission standards, and regulations.
• Assesses suicidality and danger to self or others.
• Provides psychoeducation to patients as needed.
• Attends meals and models appropriate eating behaviors.
• May travel to other facilities for trainings.

Essential Job Functions

• Collaborates with Program Director and/or Clinical Director and other professional staff to help develop comprehensive program of therapy, evaluation and treatment.
• Facilitates groups, workshops, and educational groups as directed by the program schedule.
• Responsible for completing all group notes immediately after each group.
• Document all services provided in patients' medical record.
• Knowledge of company policy and procedures, and Joint Commission standards and regulations.
• Adheres to all regulations and documentation requirements in regard to patient care and compliance of all patient care.
• Assess suicidality and possibility for danger to self or others.
• Provides psychoeducation to patients, as needed.
• Attends meals and models appropriate eating behaviors with patients, as assigned.
• May be required to travel to other facilities to attend trainings.

Knowledge, Education, Experience

Employment Status: Part-Time
Schedule: 16 hrs/week - Tuesday and Thursday
Work Location: Onsite- Torrance, CA
Compensation: Pay Range: $23 - $25 hourly
