Job summary

Center for Discovery seeks a part-time Group Facilitator to lead PHP & IOP groups onsite in Torrance, CA. Responsibilities include de-escalation when needed, communicating with the treatment team, and documenting services in patient records. Travel to other facilities for trainings may be required.

Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree, with a path toward a Master’s in progress. Compliance with ethics and confidentiality is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates groups, workshops, and educational sessions as scheduled.
• Collaborates with Program/Clinical Directors and staff to develop therapy programs.
• Completes group notes immediately after each session.
• Documents all services in patients' medical records.
• Assesses suicidality and potential danger to self/others.
• Provides psychoeducation to patients as needed.
• Attends meals and models appropriate eating behaviors.
• May travel to other facilities for trainings.

Job description

Position Summary:

The Group Facilitator is responsible for facilitating groups at the outpatient level of care (PHP & IOP). The Group Facilitator participates in de-escalation or crisis intervention when necessary. The facilitator communicates pertinent information to the primary treatment team as needed.

Essential Job Functions:

• Collaborates with Program Director and/or Clinical Director and other professional staff to help develop comprehensive program of therapy, evaluation and treatment.


• Facilitates groups, workshops, and educational groups as directed by the program schedule.


• Responsible for completing all group notes immediately after each group.


• Document all services provided in patients’ medical record.


• Knowledge of company policy and procedures, and Joint Commission standards and regulations.


• Adheres to all regulations and documentation requirements in regard to patient care and compliance of all patient care.


• Assesses suicidality and possibility for danger to self or others.


• Provides psychoeducation to patients, as needed.


• Attends meals and models appropriate eating behaviors with patients, as assigned.


• May be required to travel to other facilities to attend trainings.

Knowledge, Education, Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferred


• May be working toward Masters degree to become a therapist


• Must understand the therapeutic process, understand confidentiality laws, and have strong knowledge of professional ethics.


• Successful candidate must submit to post offer, physical examination/medical history check, and TB test.


• Must have valid CA driver’s license and liability insurance if driving a personal vehicle on our property.

Employment Status: Part-Time
Schedule: 16 hrs/week - Tuesday and Thursday

Compensation: Pay Range: $23 - $25 hourly
