Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for more than 50 years, is seeking a per-diem Group Facilitator to support the Men’s Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP) in Bangor. This position works approximately 4–10 hours per week and provides group facilitation for educational classes designed to help participants identify, challenge, and change beliefs and behaviors that support violence, power, and control in intimate relationships.DVIP classes follow a standardized, state-approved curriculum. The Group Facilitator co-facilitates classes, maintains program standards, completes required documentation, and works under the supervision of the Program Coordinator.

About the Program

The mission of the Men’s Domestic Violence Intervention Program is to teach participants how to identify, challenge, and change core beliefs that support the use of violence with intimate partners. These educational classes follow a standardized format designed to confront abusive behavior and support ways of thinking and reacting that are free from power and control.

Classes are held both in person and virtually.

Co‑Facilitation Requirements

DVIP standards established by the Maine Department of Corrections require classes to be led by two co‑facilitators, one male and one female. Penquis is currently seeking a male co‑facilitator to complete the team.
