Job summary

Oak Grove Recovery in Columbus, Ohio, seeks a Group Facilitator to lead patient sessions with structure and empathy. The role requires presenting skills, guiding discussions, and maintaining engagement during sessions within an integrated treatment team.

You will work independently with minimal supervision, report to the Clinical Director, and contribute to psychoeducation curricula while collaborating with staff across disciplines.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA or higher in Psychology, Counseling, Sociology or equivalent field
  • 2+ years of experience in a clinical role preferred
  • Be authorized to work in the US
  • Has a passion for substance abuse recovery and the well-being of patients to achieve their greatest potential

Responsibilities

  • Present skills and information to further our patients recovery
  • Conduct group psychoeducation sessions with fidelity to the established curriculum
  • Contribute Treatment Team meetings as needed
  • Work cooperatively with the treatment teams and all levels of staff
  • Report directly to the Clinical Director
  • Do additional duties as assigned

Group Facilitator
OVERVIEW:

A successful Group Facilitator will be an organized, proactive and responsive self-starter. They will have the ability to grab the attention of a room of people and guide them through content with ease. They will be approachable, understanding, and empathetic of the situations their group members are experiencing. They can provide structure and guidance when needed, while maintaining control of conversations and situations that may be uncomfortable for group attendees. Group Facilitators exude a calm confidence that inspires trust and fosters belonging in group situations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our Facilitators conduct group sessions for patients. This role works independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of an integrating team.

Our Facilitators:

Are responsible for presenting skills and information to further our patients recovery

Conduct group psychoeducation sessions with fidelity to the established curriculum

Contribute Treatment Team meetings as needed

Work cooperatively and collaboratively with everyone, especially on the treatment teams

Work cooperatively with all levels of employees and management

Do additional duties as assigned

Report directly to the Clinical Director

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities

COMPETENCIES:

  • Read, analyze, and interpret basic scientific and technical journals and legal documents

  • Manage patient groups efficiently and effectively, adapting methods as required

Language, Math, and Reasoning

  • Work with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:
  • BS/BA or higher in Psychology, Counseling, Sociology or equivalent field
  • 2+ years of experience in a clinical role preferred
  • Possess experience in Chemical Dependency or Addiction Treatment field?preferred
  • Be authorized to work in the US
  • Has a passion for substance abuse recovery and the well-being of patients to achieve their greatest potential
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must be credentialed in the State of Ohio as:

  • 1. Doctor of medicine;
  • 2. Doctor of osteopathy;
  • 3. Physician assistant;
  • 4. Clinical nurse specialist;
  • 5. Certified nurse practitioner;
  • 6. Registered nurse;
  • 7. Licensed practical nurse;
  • 8. Licensed independent social worker;
  • 9. Licensed social worker;
  • 10. Social worker assistant;
  • 11. Social worker trainee
  • 12. Licensed professional clinical counselor;
  • 13. Licensed professional counselor;
  • 14. Counselor trainee;
  • 15. Licensed independent marriage and family therapist;
  • 16. Licensed marriage and family therapist;
  • 17. Marriage and family therapist trainee;
  • 18. Licensed independent chemical dependency counselor;
  • 19. Licensed chemical dependency counselor III;
  • 20. Licensed chemical dependency counselor II;
  • 21. Chemical dependency counselor assistant;
  • 22. Psychologist;
  • 23. Psychology assistant;
  • 24. Psychology intern;
  • 25. Psychology trainee;
  • 26. School psychologist; and,
  • 27. Pharmacist.
COMPUTER SKILLS:

Competency with Microsoft Office Suite

Comfortable working with electronic health records
