YMCA of Metro Atlanta is hiring a Part-time Group Exercise Instructor II in Brookhaven, GA. The role requires leading group fitness classes, maintaining certifications, and ensuring safety and high-quality service for participants.

Under the Wellness Director, you will manage class setup and logistics, document attendance, and collaborate with staff on wellness initiatives while meeting COACH APPROACH guidelines. Must hold current certifications and pass auditions.

Qualifications

• High school or GED degree required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• One+ year experience teaching group exercise classes.
• Land instructors must hold a current national group exercise certification (ACE/ACSM/AFAA/NETA).
• Water instructors must hold a current national water group exercise certification via AEA.
• YMCA ACE online Group Exercise Instructor Certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Must pass group exercise audition.
• Must know fitness topics incl. nutrition, injury prevention, COACH APPROACH.
• Must obtain COACH APPROACH Orientation within 30 days of hire.
• CPR/AED certification must be current.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily program tasks related to group exercise.
• Promote and monitor high-quality group exercise classes.
• Maintain CPR/AED and required certifications.
• Log class attendance in GroupEx PRO and check facility updates weekly.
• Arrange and secure substitute instructors when unable to teach.
• Follow YMCA risk and safety guidelines and policies.
