Instructors needed for TRX, Cycle, Pilates, Kettlebell, Bootcamp, Kickboxing, Kids Classes, Barre, Yoga and Zumba.
Position Summary
Instructs group classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
Wage Range
$20 – $30 per hour based on experience and certifications.
Essential Functions
- Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
- Answers questions from members to support them in achieving healthy living goals.
- Maintains working knowledge of wellness trends to provide effective information and support.
- Builds relationships with members; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA.
- Keeps accurate class attendance records.
- Walks around and corrects form during class.
- Assists in maintaining equipment and informs Director of any breakage.
- Arrives 5 minutes prior to class to prepare and ensure proper set-up and tear-down.
- Responsible for covering own class and coordinating substitutes with Director/coordinator.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.

Qualifications
- Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED.
- Certification in areas of expertise.
- At least one year teaching group exercise preferred.
- Physical demands: ability to conduct classes, walk, stand, bend, reach, lift.
