Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a certified group fitness instructor who loves helping members transform their lives one class at a time. The role demands leadership, energy, and a passion for helping people achieve healthier habits.

• Must be 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification with experience or National certification.
• Exhibit strong leadership skills and a passion for member service.

Responsibilities

• Set an example of healthy living and personal fitness.
• Prepare routines and/or choreography within YMCA standards.
• Provide support and encouragement to members and reinforce healthy lifestyles.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of members and staff; notify supervisor of any safety concerns.
• Provide excellent service to all members and notify supervisor of member needs.
• Ensure safe movement and technique in all classes.
• Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures and incidents.

What is needed for this job:

• 18 years of age and high school diploma or equivalent.
• YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification with experience or National certification.
• Exhibit strong leadership skills; possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence

• Provide excellent service to all members and notify supervisor of member needs, supplies or other items needed to ensure program quality and member satisfaction.
• Ensure that safe movement and technique is utilized by every member in all classes.
• Maintain knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and maintain records on any incidents.
