The Group Exercise Instructor will lead members in a group environment through pre-arranged exercises designed to enhance overall fitness, strength, and endurance, while ensuring member safety. The role also involves educating members on various aspects of fitness.

Major Responsibilities

Pre-class Preparation:

• Arrive 10-15 minutes early to interact with members, answer questions, and orient new participants.
• Wear appropriate fitness attire and proper footwear; prefer Gold’s Gym branded attire when possible.
• Prepare music and ensure equipment and microphones are ready.

During Class Responsibilities:

• Introduce the class format and assess first-timers' fitness levels privately.
• Provide clear instructions, monitor participants' form, and offer exercise variations.
• Create a motivational and enjoyable environment.

After Class Responsibilities:

• Clear music and microphone, tidy the room, and address participant questions.
• Gather feedback and ensure proper class closure.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Start and end classes on time, and find substitutes if needed.
• Attend staff meetings, record attendance, and file incident reports if necessary.
• Maintain professionalism, promote the gym and classes.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum six months of group exercise teaching experience.
• Knowledge of safe exercise techniques, physiology, and body mechanics.
• Ability to perform various routines and operate audio equipment.
• Specialized skills (Yoga, Pilates, etc.) require verifiable proof of education.
• Certifications: ACE, AFAA, or ACSM; CPR and First Aid.
• Physical ability to perform exercises including lifting, bending, jumping, and running.
