How this role contributes to the Y’s mission

As a Y Group Exercise Instructor, you will provide quality instruction and supervision, teaching safe and challenging classes that promote total fitness and well-being. Your role helps members stay active, connected, and engaged in a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere, fostering a sense of health, purpose, acceptance, and belonging. You will help create experiences that enhance community health and individual fulfillment.

Qualifications
  • A love of fitness and people
  • A desire to encourage fun and engagement in fitness activities
  • A nationally recognized accredited group exercise certification (ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NETA) or specialty certifications (Les Mills, Zumba, etc.)
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to listen and relate to children, parents, members, and colleagues
