Job summary

The YMCA of Delaware is seeking a Group Ex Instructor Aquatics at the Dover YMCA Family Location in Dover, DE. This part-time role will lead energizing, safe aquatic group classes and help members achieve healthy living goals under supervision.

You will maintain attendance records, answer member questions, and foster a welcoming community at the Dover YMCA, with competitive pay and available benefits.

Qualifications

• CPR & First Aid certification required.
• Completed Basic Instructor Training Course and/or one specialty certification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community.

Responsibilities

• Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
• Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living.

Rate of pay: $15.76. Final compensation is based on factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.

• Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.


• Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.


• Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.


• Keeps accurate class attendance records.

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community


• CPR & First Aid Certified


• Must have completed a Basic Instructor Training Course and/or completed one specialty certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Multi-lingual skills


• National Group Exercise Certification (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, or NETA) and/or BS in related field
