Job summary

SAMACO is seeking a seasoned EHS Manager to lead the safety program across three plants and multiple warehouses. You will drive a strong safety culture, implement job safety analyses, coordinate noise monitoring, and ensure regulatory compliance at all sites.

Responsibilities include managing injuries and workers’ compensation, leading PPE audits, training, site audits, and supporting engineering during renovations. On-site role with travel and budget responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Health Science or safety-related field.
  • 5+ years of EHS management experience at multiple sites.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA/state regulations.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite.
  • Experience with safety programs and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the PSG safety program and drive a positive safety culture across 3 plants and multiple warehouses with 2 indirect reports.
  • Travel approximately 25% to support sites.
  • Develop and implement Job Safety Analysis for each job.
  • Coordinate annual noise level readings/testing as required.
  • Maintain and adhere to location compliance calendar.
  • Maintain compliance for web-based EHS systems.
  • Manage employee injuries and workers’ compensation program.
  • Ensure completion of routine inspections of safety equipment (eyewash/showers, fire extinguishers).
  • Inspect and maintain logs of emergency response equipment and status.
  • Perform field audits of PPE as required.
  • Assist with reports and statistical analysis of Health and Safety data.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and implement corrective measures.
  • Conduct new employee safety orientation.
  • Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain department budget and support plant financial objectives.
  • Deliver mandated EHS trainings (Hazard Communication, LOTO, Confined Space, RCRA, Storm Water, Cranes/Hoists, Powered Industrial Trucks, PPE).
  • Assist in investigations of employee complaints related to health and safety.
  • Aid engineering for process changes and renovations.
  • Review sampling procedures, records, data prior to submissions.
  • Receive, approve, interpret Industrial Hygiene results.
  • Manage HS records access and retention.
  • Oversee and manage Lead compliance program.

  • Maintain and work within department budget. Support plant financial objectives.
  • Conduct mandated employee environment, health and safety training programs as required by the EHS Training Matrix, such as Hazard Communication, Lock Out/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, RCRA, Storm Water, Cranes and Hoists, Powered Industrial Trucks, and Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Assist in the investigation of employee complaints related to health and safety.
  • Aid the engineering team for new manufacturing processes, construction, demolition and renovation activities.
  • Review and approve sampling procedures, records, and data prior to sample submittal.
  • Receive, approve, and interpret Industrial Hygiene results.
  • Managing HS records to ensure proper access and retention of HS records is maintained.
  • Oversee and manage Lead compliance program.
Education and Certifications
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred in Industrial Hygiene, Health Science, Industrial Safety or related field. Will also consider associate’s degree with 5 - 10 years directly related experience
  • Prefer 5+ years industrial EHS Manager experience with multiple site responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA/State Regulations.
  • Knowledge of proper protocol for exposure monitoring.
  • Proficient with MS Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, and Word)
Physical Requirements
  • While some work will be performed in an office setting, the majority of the time the employee will be required to be in the Manufacturing facilities and Warehouses, where additional exposure is likely (heat, humidity).
  • Qualified candidates must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb with minimal effort.
  • This is a full-time position, and working on-site is required.
