Job description

Overview

The EHS Manager will lead and facilitate the integration of EHS processes, SOPs/policies, assist in administering programs, and training in compliance with local Federal and State regulations and standards. This hands‑on role involves observing, monitoring, training, and coaching employees toward EHS goals and initiatives across all operation areas.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of EHS regulations and industry best practices. Lead EHS permitting processes and liaison with regulatory authorities.
• Program Management: Drive implementation of CHG EHS Programs and continuous improvement. Manage environmental expectations, emergency preparedness, safety risk assessments, waste management, ergonomics, contractor safety, and EHS culture.
• Data & KPI Management: Store, analyze, and communicate EHS data in Gensuite (or similar). Track and report on programs evaluation, workplace audits, ATS findings closure, training completion, injuries, illnesses, and significant events.
• Risk Assessment & Audits: Conduct regular EHS audits, inspections, risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Incident Management: Oversee incident reporting, investigation, corrective actions, trend analysis, and preventive measures.
• Training: Conduct EHS training courses for assigned program areas.
• Safety Culture Promotion: Foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
• Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records, prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or related field.
• 5+ years of EHS management experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
• Knowledge of plant operations desirable.
• Certification such as ASP or CSP a plus but not required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS management systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply EHS regulations to plant site.
• Professional representation of company to agencies, customers, vendors.

Benefits & Compensation

• Salary range: $82,757.00 – $150,222.00. Actual compensation may vary.

Other Requirements

• Typical work in office or manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, fumes, noise, etc.
