Job summary

Sentio Executive Search is retained to fill a Group CTO role for a Fortune 500 industrial group in Chicago. The incoming CTO will own technology strategy across engineering, digital products, cloud, data and AI, modernising a $10B+ business and turning technology into a competitive advantage.

Reporting to the CEO and sitting on the Group Executive Committee, the CTO will lead a 700+ person engineering and technology organisation across the US, EMEA and APAC, and partner with the CEO, CFO and CDO

Qualifications

Standing CTO / SVP Engineering of a $2B+ business with software-product and enterprise-IT scope.
Hands-on background in cloud architecture, data platforms and AI/ML at scale.
Experience modernising legacy estates: cloud migration, monolith decomposition, platform engineering.
Proven leader of 500+ engineers across geographies with succession planning.
Board-level communicator translating technology strategy into shareholder value.

Responsibilities

Define and own multi-year technology strategy across engineering, data, AI, cloud and cybersecurity.
Lead a 700+ person engineering and technology organisation across the US, EMEA and APAC.
Partner with the CEO, CFO and CDO on the digital P&L and value-creation plan.
Drive AI adoption, platform standardisation and disciplined technology investment governance.
Represent the group on technology topics with the Board, analysts and strategic partners.
