Job summary

LSS of South Dakota is seeking a group coordinator to lead the Evening Reporting Center at the Arise Youth Center. You will supervise youth, coordinate with partners, and support families to promote positive living skills.

The role is full-time (40 hours weekly) with a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends. Benefits include a sign-on bonus and retirement options for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred, plus 1–2 years' experience in related human service field; (preferred)
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Experience working with youth, is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years old and willing to complete agency background checks.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license or obtain one with approved driver status.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, guidance, and support to youth in the Evening Reporting Center, shelter care, and reception center programs.
• Facilitate group sessions, develop individualized and group activities that promote personal growth, and provide guidance under the direction of the Program Director.
• Coordinate client referrals, schedule and complete intakes, and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Communicate with families, community partners, court officials, and law enforcement as needed.
• Prepare court updates, track program outcomes, and assist with reporting requirements.
• Coordinate transportation, meal preparation, and daily program activities while ensuring a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for youth.

• Must successfully complete all required agency background checks, including checks for criminal convictions involving behavior harmful toward children, spousal abuse, and drug or sex crimes.
