Job summary

Spencer Ogden is seeking an experienced Groundwater Resources Project Manager in Colorado. You will oversee technically challenging groundwater and water supply projects from planning to completion, coordinating with municipal and industrial clients across the region.

The role emphasizes technical hydrogeology, project management, and client leadership on major water resource challenges throughout Colorado.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years in water resources engineering or hydrogeology.
  • 2+ years of project management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with groundwater modeling and hydrogeologic analysis.
  • Knowledge of Colorado groundwater permitting and water rights.

Responsibilities

  • Manage groundwater and water resources projects from planning through completion.
  • Own project schedules, budgets, deliverables and client communication.
  • Provide technical oversight and QA/QC.
  • Manage production well projects including drilling, logging, testing, and pump installation.
  • Develop scopes of work and support proposals.
  • Maintain relationships with clients across Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region.
  • Prepare technical reports, memorandums, and presentations.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors and technical teams.

Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Groundwater Resources Project Manager to join a growing water resources team in Colorado.

This is an opportunity to manage technically challenging groundwater and water supply projects across Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region, working with municipal and industrial clients from initial planning and feasibility through design, implementation, and completion.

What You’ll Work On:
  • Groundwater resource and water supply planning
  • Groundwater basin characterization
  • Hydrogeologic conceptual models and water balances
  • Numerical groundwater modeling, including MODFLOW and similar platforms
  • Colorado groundwater permitting and water rights
  • Production well siting, design, drilling, development, and testing
  • Managed aquifer recharge and groundwater recharge studies
  • Water supply planning and water accounting
  • Direct and indirect potable reuse planning
  • Technical studies and litigation support
What You’ll Do:
  • Manage multiple groundwater and water resources projects from planning through completion
  • Own project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client communication
  • Provide technical oversight and QA/QC
  • Manage high-capacity production well projects, including drilling, geophysical logging, aquifer testing, and pump installation
  • Develop scopes of work and support proposal development
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with clients across Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region
  • Prepare technical reports, memorandums, presentations, and other project deliverables
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and technical teams
What We’re Looking For:
  • 6+ years of water resources engineering or hydrogeology experience; 8+ years preferred
  • 2+ years of project management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Earth Sciences, or related discipline
  • Experience with groundwater modeling, water resources planning, and hydrogeologic analysis
  • Knowledge of Colorado groundwater permitting and water rights frameworks
  • Understanding of Denver Basin hydrogeology is highly desirable
  • PE or professional geoscience registration is preferred
  • Experience with ArcGIS and technical data analysis
  • Python, R, and/or Surfer experience is a plus
  • Data center water development experience is advantageous but not required
