Under general supervision from Grounds Supervisors, the temporary Groundsworker performs a variety of sometimes strenuous physical tasks dedicated to the daily care and maintenance of grounds, shrubs, and plants using appropriate methods and techniques. The role includes operating and maintaining all related tools, equipment, and vehicles, including mowers, seeders, rototillers, and aerators. In winter, responsibilities include removing snow and ice from sidewalks, patios, and some drives using hand tools and small and large vehicles. The Groundsworker is also responsible for removal and disposal of dirt, debris, and rubbish from campus lawns and lots. The position is seasonal and temporary, up to six months.
