Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Groundsperson to support vegetation management tasks, from ground work to operating trucks and equipment. The role requires working outdoors, maintaining safety protocols, and occasionally overtime or weekend hours. CDL preferred and a valid driver’s license are necessary assets.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with experience in related fields. A background check and drug screen may be required during the hiring process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Experience in vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.
• Valid Driver’s license required; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work from the ground to keep work area clear of debris using hand tools and equipment to cut brush and trees.
• Define staging areas and set up/break down material, tools, and equipment as required.
• Prepare and feed brush into woodchipper.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris.
• Operate various trucks and equipment as assigned.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks and equipment and report major repairs.
• Ensure safety for employees and the public in and around the work area.
• Work overtime and weekends as required during emergencies.
