Job summary

The Groundsperson position is based with Xylem Tree Experts, performing ground-based tasks such as clearing brush and trees as directed and handling site cleanup after each job. The role emphasizes safety, using hand tools, pruners, pole saws, and gas-powered equipment, with strong emphasis on keeping work areas clear and following procedures.

Essential duties include loading equipment, setting up road signs, flagging traffic, and performing basic truck maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or education equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather.
• Able to pass background check and drug screen as required.

Responsibilities

• Work from ground to clear undergrowth and assist in right-of-way maintenance using hand tools and gas-powered saws.
• Load/unload trucks with logs and debris; feed material into chipper.
• Set up/tear down road signs; flag traffic to protect workers and public.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks/equipment and report major repairs.
• Travel for storm restoration work as needed.
